Kathleen “Katie” Schroer, age 86 of Le Center, died Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at the Carriage House in Le Center. Visitation will be at Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center on Sunday, October 2, from 2pm to 6pm. Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 3 at 10am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Le Center with Father Chris Shofner officiating with visitation one hour prior at the church. Burial will be held in the Calvary Cemetery in Le Center. In lieu of flowers donations are preferred to the American Legion Building Fund or the Le Center Food Shelf.

Katie was born on November 5, 1935 to Joseph and Beatrice (Suedbeck) Hebbelman in Wilmont, MN in Nobles County. She attended Our Lady of Good Counsel School in Wilmont and graduated from Good Counsel High School in Mankato. Katie was united in marriage to Victor “Vic” Schroer on February 4, 1957 at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Wilmont. She worked for the Pontiac-Chevrolet dealer in Mankato for 2 years and finished her career with as a Clerk/ Typist at the ACSC office in Le Center. She enjoyed music, story and joke telling. Katie was a member of the Le Center Lions, 50-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary, St. Mary’s CCW, and Le Center food shelf volunteer.

Katie is survived by children, Barbara (Sonny) Jirik of New Prague, Mark (Karen) Schroer of Le Center and Al (Deb) Schroer of Le Sueur; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.

Katie is preceded in death by her husband, Vic Schroer; parents; siblings, Ronald Hebbelman and Marlene Lawson.
