Paul Richard Weber

Paul Richard Weber passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Central Health Care in Le Center, Minnesota.

Paul was born on September 17, 1930, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, to the late Warren and Regina (Gans) Weber. Upon graduation from Albany High School, Paul enlisted in the United States Army in September of 1948. Paul proudly served in Trieste, Italy with the 98th Army Band, later receiving the Army of Occupation Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1952. After his honorable discharge, Paul attended St. Cloud State University, graduating in 1957, with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Musical Education. On June 18, 1960, Paul married the love of his life, LaVonne Wenning, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Melrose, Minnesota. Together they had four children and celebrated 64 years of unconditional love.

Throughout his career, Paul was the Band Director in Eagle Bend, Minnesota until 1959. After which Paul continued teaching in Clark and Sioux Falls, South Dakota while earning his Master of Science degree in both Guidance & Counseling and Music Education through the University of South Dakota. In 1967 he joined the faculty at Le Center High School as the Guidance Counselor. Paul found his calling in 1970 when he entered the insurance business as an independent agent. He went on to grow that business and became a Regional Sales Director for Midland National Life of Sioux Falls, South Dakota until retirement.

Paul is a life member and past Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1803. He served as the Commander of District 2 VFW participating at both the State and National level. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 108 and also a Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus.

Paul enjoyed music, gardening, fishing, hunting, camping, and most of all spending time with his family. He never met a stranger that didn’t become a friend.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, LaVonne; four children: Denise (Michael) Choiniere, Michelle (Brian) Lee, Patrice Cramer, and Mark (Mary) Weber; grandchildren: David (Mandi) Choiniere, Nathan Choiniere, Julia Lee (fiancé, Andrew Armbrust), Berkley and Mackenley Cramer, Max and Charlie Weber; great grandson, Arlo Choiniere; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents; his twin sister, Mary; brother, Warren (Marian)Weber; sisters: Marcia Weber and Elizabeth (Richard) MacDonald; brothers-in-law: LeRoy Wenning, Lloyd (Leona) Wenning; nephew, David Weber; niece, Laurie Holder.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, January 10, 2025, at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Le Center. A prayer service with a time of sharing will begin at 8 PM. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 11, 2025, Church of St Mary in Le Center. Burial will be at St. Mary Calvary Cemetery.

Military honors will be provided by the Le Center Military Honor Guard.
