Alfred A. Scheffert

Alfred A. Scheffert, age 98, of Le Center, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Central Health Care in Le Center. Visitation will be on Friday, September 26, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center. Funeral Services will also be on Friday, September 26 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Le Center.
Alfred was born to Charles and Clara (Krueger) Scheffert on December 10, 1915 in Cordova Township, MN. He was united in marriage to Adela Caroline Braun on February 5, 1941 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center. He was a life long farmer.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, dice and card playing, traveling and playing pool. He was a Le Center Community Club member.
Alfred is survived by children, Jerry (Patricia) Scheffert of Le Center and Joan (Richard) Blaschko of Le Center; 4 grandchildren, Kari (Jason) Reich, Randee (Shawn) Onken, Kelly (Amy) Blaschko and Kory Blaschko; 7 great-grandchildren, Emma, Madison, Olivia, Sam, Tyler, Owen, Brenden; sister, Anna Pope of Le Center.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Adela Scheffert in 2013; daughter, Kathleen in 1995; parents; sisters, Abby Quast, Laura Burgess and Evelyn Gehrke; brother, Clarence Scheffert and a brother in infancy.
