Alice M. Cemensky, 93, of Lexington, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Visitation will be on Monday, April 8 from 4-8pm at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian burial will be on Tuesday, April 9 at 10:30 am with visitation one hour prior at St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Heidelberg. Interment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery in Lexington.

Alice was born on January 23, 1926 in Faribault to William I. and Maude A. (Hackett) Miller. She was a graduate of Waterville High School and received her BS at MSU in Mankato. Alice was united in marriage to Norbert Cemensky on September 24, 1947 at St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny. She taught school for 3 years at a rural school, St. Marys Catholic School in 1968, and from 1968 to 1991 at Holy Redeemer Catholic School in Montgomery. Alice was a member of the Montgomery Legion Auxiliary, KC Auxiliary, past President of the CCW, pastoral council Board and was organist for over 55 years of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lexington, musician for Legion Auxiliary, and very active in church organizations. Alice enjoyed gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, music, reading, living and working on the farm, and especially teaching.

Alice is survived by her children, Kathy (Jim) Allen of Baraboo, WI., Debbie (Dave) Myers of Plymouth, Mark (Carol) Cemensky of Mendota Heights, and Mike (Sheila) Cemensky of Lexington; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Norbert Cemensky; son, Bill Cemensky; parents; siblings, twin sister, Irene Zelenka, Margaret Novotny, Deanie Janda, and Harold Miller.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
