Alice Marie (David) Hoefs

Alice Marie (David) Hoefs, 95, passed away on March 31, 2015. Funeral service is schedule for Sunday, April 12, at 3:30 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 105 Spruce Avenue SW, Montgomery. Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 3:15 p.m. in the church. Lunch will be served at the church continuously from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Interment will be at St. John's Cemetery in Montgomery. All are invited. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to St. John's Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine.
Alice was born on January 1, 1920, to Jacob and Emma (Piha) David in Rice County. She married Gilbert Hoefs on October 11, 1938. Together they farmed south of Heidelberg and later south of Union Hill.
Alice is survived by daughter, Betty Jane Hoefs Bauer and son-in-law Dr. Milton Bauer; son, John Jacob Hoefs and daughter-in-law Patricia Ann Hoefs; seven grandchildren, Eric Bauer, Steven Bauer, David Bauer, Jena Lynn Hoefs Riley, John Thomas Hoefs, Adam Vaughn Heimer and Josie Marie Heimer and seven great-grandchildren, Isaac Bauer, Love Bauer, Joshua Bauer, Isabella Bauer, Matthew Riley, Jane Riley, Jean Riley.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Gilbert Hoefs on August 21, 2002; brothers, George and Harry David; brothers-in-law, Norbert, Lee and Art Hoefs and sisters-in-law, Blanche David, Lois, Philly and Adeline Hoefs and Mrs. Harry David.
