Alice Marie Novotny

Alice Marie Novotny, age 68 of Montgomery, died October 31, 2017 at Central Health Care in Le Center. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, November 8 at 11am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Fr. George Grafsky officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 7 from 4-8pm at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery concluding with rosary at 7:30pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior on Wednesday morning at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

Alice was born on March 11, 1949 to Alois and Ludmilla (Dietz) Mahowald. Alice graduated from New Prague High School in 1967. Alice was united in marriage to Lawrence Novotny Sr. on October 12, 1968 in New Prague at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. They owned and operated Novotny Sport Shop in Montgomery for 13 years. Alice enjoyed gardening, crafting, playing cards, camping, and fishing.

Alice is survived by her husband, Lawrence Novotny, Sr. of Montgomery; children, Lora (significant other, Darren Bastyr) Novotny of Montgomery, Lisa (John) Hodges of New Prague, Larry Novotny, Jr. of Montgomery, Kevin Novotny of Montgomery, and Mark (significant other, Krystal Hamele) Novotny of Montgomery; 10 grandchildren, Kyle, Amanda, Megan, and Katrina Roe, Madeline and Nicholas Novotny, Allie and Aiden Novotny, Brooke Holicky, and Mason Novotny; great-granddaughter, Emma Roe; siblings, John (Sue) Mahowald from Denver, CO, Paul (Louise) Mahowald from Donna, TX, and Ruth Bullard of Brownton.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents.
