Allen August Kewitsch, 81, of Le Center passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimers Disease, on Monday, March 30, 2020. He was surrounded by his family. Graveside service will be on Friday, July 24th at 11am at Woodlawn Cemetery in Le Center.
Allen was born on January 23, 1939 to Alden and Edna (Reiter) Kewitsch. He graduated from McKinley High school in 1956. He entered the Army in 1960 spending time in the US at Ft. Gordon, Ft. Benning and Ft.Collins as well as active duty in Germany as a radio technician. He was united in marriage to Patricia Pischel on June 19, 1965 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Le Center. He worked at Fire & Safety with Pats Dad, Larson Industries and the majority of his career at Winco Inc. He retired after 30 years.
Allen was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved to travel and was able to take many trips with Pat and their children throughout the US. Al & Pat spent many winters in the warm Arizona sunshine after retirement with other friends from Le Center.
He is survived by his son Paul (Gretchen) Kewitsch of Farmington, MN; daughters Nancy (Russ) Prososki of Lakeville, MN, and Christine (Alex) Reese of Oakdale, MN; six grandchildren Rachel and August Kewitsch, Lucas and Abigail Prososki, and Aiden and Nora Reese; sisters Marjorie Schmidt of Mankato, MN and Ardelle Barten of North Mankato, MN.
Allen is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pat in 2018 and brothers-in law Donald Schmidt and John Barten.
