Alvin Kaderlik, age 88 of Montgomery, died on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at his home in Montgomery. Funeral service will be at 10:30am on Friday, October 27 at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Thursday, October 26 at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery concluding with the Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7:30pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior at the funeral home. Military Rites will be provided by the Montgomery Area Honor Guard. Interment will in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.

Alvin was born on August 16, 1929 in Lonsdale to William and Mary (Voracek) Kaderlik. Alvin served with the United States Army during the Korean War 1951-1954. Earned the rank of Sergeant in Korea. Served with the "A" Battery 38th Field Artillery Battalion. Earned the National Defense Service Medal, The United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Ribbon, Three Bronze Battle Stars, and Republic of Korea Presidential United Citation. Alvin was released from active duty on August 12, 1954.

Alvin was united in marriage to Gladys Sticha on October 26, 1954. Alvin was employed by Westerman Lumber Company from 1954 to 1967, Green Giant from 1967 until retirement in 1989, and part-time work in maintenance and Cemetery Board at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.

Alvin was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, served as Commander for two terms, Commander of the Le Sueur Co. Council V.F.W., Life Member of the American Legion Post #79 in Montgomery, and served as Commander, Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1573 and served as Grand Knight, member of the Montgomery Veterans Honor Guard with the position of Sergeant of Arms. Alvin enjoyed fishing, playing cards, doing carpentry, and going to casinos.

Alvin was survived by his wife, Gladys Kaderlik of Montgomery; son, Rod (Deb) Kaderlik of Montgomery; brother, Myles (Donna) Kaderlik; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Kaderlik; and brother-in-law, Wilfred (Diane) Sticha.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Elgin kaderlik.
