Alvin Sladek of Montgomery, passed away after a short illness Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Regina Medical Center in Hastings, MN. Visitation will be held at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery on Tuesday, January 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Bohemian National Cemetery in Montgomery.

Alvin was born in Montgomery, Minnesota October 5th, 1934. He was the son of George and Helen Sladek. He attended country school and graduated class of 1953 from Montgomery High School. He was a military veteran. He attended Faribault Vocational School, and was a certified machinist. He retired from Continental Machinery Company where he was employed for 25 years. He spent his golden years on his farm by Green Leaf Lake in Montgomery. He loved to fish and his hobby was raising sheep. He was the number three wool producer in the state of Minnesota. A deed he was very proud of.

He is survived by three brothers, Marvin, Vernon, and Roger Sladek; two nieces, Dawn Shaughnessy and Michelle Miller; and one nephew, Jonathan Sladek.
