Ambrose Edward Duffney, age 89, of Lonsdale, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Three Links Care Center in Northfield. Visitation will be on Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Funeral service will also be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
Ambrose was born on February 27, 1925 in Rice County. He served in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Dorothy (Zvanovec) Duffney at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery on May 12, 1949.
He was a member of the VFW of Montgomery, Lonsdale American Legion and the Knights of Columbus in Montgomery. He enjoyed fishing, time with his grandchildren, card playing and taxidermy.
Ambrose will be deeply missed by his wife, Dorothy Duffney of Lonsdale; children, Shirley Pumper of Montgomery, Bonny Duffney of Woodville, WI., Duane (Vicky) Duffney of Montgomery and Debora (Dave) Pederson of Lonsdale; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; brothers, Leonard (Rhoda) Duffney of Montgomery and Roger (JoAnn) Duffney of Washington State and brother-in-law, Arnold Kukacka of Montgomery.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 5 sisters and 1 brother.
Military Honors will be provided by the Montgomery and Lonsdale area Honor Guard.
