Ann Marie (Cooney) Mcshane

Ann Marie (Cooney) McShane, 84 of Minneapolis formerly of Le Center, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Catholic Elder Care in Minneapolis. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with rosary at 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center with visitation one hour prior at the church. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Le Center.

Ann was born June 3, 1930, in Kilkenny Township, Le Sueur County, MN to Charles M. and Mary (Warnemunde) Cooney. She grew up on the family farm in Cordova Township with six brothers and a sister. She graduated from Le Center High School, attended Normal School and taught briefly in a one room school house near Sleepy Eye, MN. Then traveled to Southern California with her brother John and his family where she worked in an office. Married Donald M. McShane on May 24, 1952, and was a loving and caring mother of six children. She spent most of her married life in Onamia, MN then returned to Le Center in the early 1980's. She was a member of Church of St. Mary and volunteered at the Le Center Food Shelf. Ann loved to read especially before going to sleep. She was an active patron of the Le Center Public Library.

Ann is survived by her children, Terry and Mark Lewis of Portland, OR their daughter Christina and fianc� Alex Wheatley, and son William Lewis, Daniel McShane of Ramsey and his son Zachary, Charles McShane of the Republic of Burundi and sons Evan and Spencer, Paula and Willie Monteiro of Minneapolis and their sons Marco and Thomas, Mark and Michelle McShane of Oak Grove and their children Abigale and Landon; brothers Patrick and Vi Cooney of Le Center and Ray and Janet Cooney of New Prague, and sister, Theresa and Warren Christianson of Ranch Mirage, CA.

She is preceded in death by her and husband, Donald; son, Thomas both in 1976, her parents; and brothers, Emmett, John, Urban, and Robert.
