Anna Clara Pope, 100, of Le Center, passed away at Central Health Care in Le Center on Sunday, April 22, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 27, at 11:00am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center with Pastor Ally Bowman officiating with visitation from 9:30am to 11:00am at the church. Interment will be held in Greenwood Cemetery in Le Center.

Anna was born to Charles and Clara (Krueger) Scheffert in Cordova Township on November 12, 1917. She was baptized on December 19, 1917 by Rev. F. J. Tiede and confirmed on April 20, 1930 by Rev. Ackermann at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Le Center.

Anna attended country school. She married Norby Pope on November 20, 1940 at St. Paul Lutheran by Pastor Ackermann. They were blessed with three daughters, Rita, Shirley and Judy.

Anna worked at different factories, Spors and Mayors, Brinktuns and Green Giant and did housekeeping for others. She was a homemaker on their farm and enjoyed gardening of vegetables and lots of pretty flowers. She loved to sew, cook, and bake. She kept her family in abundance with her breads and cookies.

Anna was a dedicated and faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran. She was involved in church activities by participating in the ELCW, serving on the altar guild, quilting, sympathy committee, and helped whenever needed with the Lamplighter or other needs. Anna enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a lovely lady and will be sadly missed by them.

Anna is survived by daughters, Rita and Jim Konen of Mendota Heights, Shirley and Larry Germscheid of Le Center, and Judy and Ken Franek of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandchildren, Pat (Sue) Germscheid of Devon, England, Chris Germscheid (Brenda) of Cleveland, Kurt Konen of Newport, and Kristina Franek of Minneapolis; 3 great-granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.

Anna is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norby on March 5, 2007; granddaughter, Gina Germscheid on July 17, 1992; 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.
