Anthony James 'Sonny' Dobmeier

Anthony James "Sonny" Dobmeier, 75, of Montgomery, passed away at Mayo Systems Hospital in Mankato on Friday, March 2, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, March 10, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery, with visitation 2 hours prior at church. Interment will be held in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in rural Montgomery. Father Victor Valencia will be officiating.

Anthony was born on May 20, 1942 in Olivia to Anthony and Marian (Hosek) Dobmeier. Anthony was a graduate from Aloysius Catholic grade school in Olivia and Olivia High School. Anthony was united in marriage to Grace Pomije on October 17, 1970 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague. He worked construction and maintenance custodial work at the Jonathan Clinic. Anthony was a sports fan, especially Twins baseball. He also enjoyed card playing and grocery shopping with the kids.

Anthony is survived by his wife, Grace Dobmeier of Montgomery; Children, Lisa Dobmeier-Washa (Greg Schmidt) of Le Center, Tony (Melissa) Dobmeier of Le Center, and Terry Dobmeier of Montgomery; grandchildren, Alex, John, Haley, Cameron, Calob, and Rylyn; sisters, Michele "Mickey" Ahl of Madison, MN, and Margaret "Tootsie (Kenny) Wagener of Waconia; brother-in-law, Jim Schwartz of Chaska.

Anthony is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Schwartz; brother-in-law, Dewayne Ahl.
