Anthony 'Tony' Joseph Wieland

Anthony “Tony” Joseph Wieland, age 94, of Le Center died Friday, October 30, 2020 at Central Health Care in Le Center. Family services will be held and a traditional service will be held at a later date.

Tony was born on May 18, 1926 in Lexington Township at home to Joseph “Joe” and Lucille “Lucy” (Traxler) Wieland. Tony attended St. Henry Country School. Tony was united in marriage to Bonnie M. LaDue on August 31, 1948 at St. Annes Catholic Church in Le Sueur. Tony farmed and also worked for Le Sueur County Highway Dept. and Brinktons in Le Center. Tony loved his family and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards.

Tony is survived by his children, Mary Jo (Ed Franks) Kennedy, of Le Center, Robert “Bob” (Cindy) Wieland of Le Center, Patti (Dale) Brenke of Mankato, Jeff Wieland of Le Center; grandchildren, Chuck Kennedy, Catherine (Rick) Plasschaert, Bonnie Kennedy, Michael Kennedy, Kelly (Peter) Matejcek, and Kris (Anita) Brenke; great-grandchildren, Tabitha, Taylor, Clayton, Ava, Finlee, Wila, and Mack; many nieces and nephews.

Tony is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie M. Wieland in 2013; brother, Richard (Dolores) Wieland; sisters, Mary Lou (Arnie) Hannigan, and Alice (Ed) Balk.
