Ardyce Darlyne Boda

Ardyce Darlyne (Hall) Boda, age 87, of LeCenter, died peacefully Friday, December 22, at BeeHive Homes of Excelsior. A celebration of Ardyce's life will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at 12:00 noon at St. John Lutheran Church, 105 Spruce Avenue NW, Montgomery, MN, 56069. Visitation will take place from 11:00 am to noon, and lunch will be served in the church social hall following the service.

Ardyce was born on April 19, 1930, in Nicollet County to Isaac Herbert and Esther (Lund) Hall. She spent her childhood on her family farm in Bernadotte township and graduated from Winthrop High School. She was united in marriage to the Rev. Robert Boda on August 25, 1956, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Owatonna.

Bob and Ardyce worked as partners in ministry throughout Minnesota, serving ELCA parishes in Grove City, Arlington, Albert Lea, Wabasha, Ostrander, and Montgomery. To the very end, Ardyce lived her life with an open heart, an open mind, and an open home to all. She was a mother to all who needed one, inspiring us all with her compassion, undying faith, and quick wit. A talented seamstress, artist and writer, her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends at her lake home near LeCenter. Her healing presence, warm heart, and empathetic nature will be forever missed by all who knew her.

Ardyce is survived by her husband, Rev. Robert Boda of LeCenter; children, Suzanne (George Grindahl) of Los Angeles, CA, Kristin of Bloomington, Stephan (Maria Scholz Boda) of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Sofia Hall Boda, Mae Scholz Boda and Beno Scholz Boda. She will be missed by her many devoted nieces and nephews, and special great nephew, Nathan Burwell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Ellsworth Hall, David Hall, Stanley Hall, and sisters Florence Goebel and LeDoris Hall.

A heartfelt thanks goes out to Ardyce's wonderful caregivers over the past years: Lake Volney neighbors Terry and Lisa Stier and family, loving caregivers from Freedom Home Care of Mankato, new friends of BeeHive Homes of Excelsior, Brighton Hospice of St. Louis Park, Dr. Carrie Wolke of Edina, Rev. Jason Pollington of St. John Lutheran Church, and Ardyce's special team of support dogs, Honza, Holly, Bentley and Finnegan.
