Arnold "Arnie" Joseph Studnicka, age 80, of Montgomery died Friday, April 28th, 2017 suddenly but peacefully at his home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 3 from 4-8 p.m. at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery with a rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be on Thursday, May 4 at 10:30 a.m. also at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be held in Bohemian National Cemetery in rural Montgomery.
Arnie was born on September 6, 1936 in Erin Township in Rice County to Frank and Rose (Horeji) Studnicka. He attended Montgomery schools. Arnie was united in marriage to Mary Brezina on April 21, 1959 at Most Holy Redeemer Church in Montgomery. Together they raised 3 children and 1 grandson.
He farmed for 11 years, drove semi truck hauling Murphy Freight for 5 years, was a welder for Brinktuns, and also worked on the street department for the City of Montgomery for 35 years.
During his retirement Arnie enjoyed tilling and plowing gardens with his Massey Fergusson. Arnie was a simple man and he enjoyed old time music, dancing, festivals, Pioneer Power, gardening and playing euchre. He loved everything outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved spending time with his family and coffee breaks with friends.
Arnie is survived by his children, Arnie Studnicka, Jr. of Faribault, and Becky (David) Freid of Le Center; grandsons, Josh Wallace, and Bryan Freid; great-granddaughters, Kendra and Alyssa Wallace; and many other family and friends.
Arnie is preceded in death by his parents; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene (Studnicka) and Phillip Brown; brothers, Frank and Richard Studnicka; step-brothers, Emil and Alvin Mucha; 3 Coonhounds, Duke, Sporty and Baron.
