Arthur Theodore Weiers

Arthur Theodore Weiers, age 82, of Montgomery, died on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Three Links Care Center in Northfield, MN. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery and will continue one hour prior at the funeral home on Wednesday . Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.

Arthur was born on May 30, 1933 in Derrynane Township to Albert and Mary (Solheid) Weiers. He graduated from New Prague High School. Arthur was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Phillips on June 1, 1957 at Nativity Church in St. Paul. Arthur was a self employed truck driver for Weiers Trucking.
He was a member of the American Legion, Montgomery Park Board, Holy Redeemer Parish Council, Minnesota over 60 Band and the Montgomery Community Band and also coached baseball and hockey. He enjoyed music, played the trombone, piano and accordion, enjoyed sports especially baseball , also enjoyed gardening and woodworking.

Arthur is survived by his children, Dale Weiers of Montgomery, Mark (Debra Beilke) Weiers of Savage and Gary (Jane) Weiers of Faribault; 4 grandchildren, Ted (Andrea) and Nick Weiers and Jordan and Chloe Weiers; sisters, Jean Jirik of New Prague, Charlotte (Jerry) Edberg of New Prague, Carol (Bob) Rynda of Bloomington and Irene Weiers of New Prague; sister-in-law, Barb Weiers of New Prague and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arthur is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Shirley in 1996; brother, Bob Weiers and brother-in-law, Fritz Jirik.

Military Honors provided by the Montgomery area Honor Guard.
