Betty Welckle Blaschko, of Le Center, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on her 79th Birthday, Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at Three Links Care Home in Northfield. Visitation will be Saturday, October 4, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Funeral service will also be on Saturday, October 4 at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center.
Betty was born to George and Dorothy (Gostomczik) Welckle on September 24, 1935 in Le Center. Graduated from McKinley High School in Le Center. She was employed as a chemical dependency counselor for Le Sueur County and also as a probation officer for Pima County in Arizona.
She was a member of AA for 43 years, the Dry Riders, Saddle Club and also the Bon Bon Clown Club. She enjoyed motorcycle riding, horseback riding, traveling, snowmobiling, softball and cross stitch work.
Betty is survived by children, Debbie (Kenny) O'Connell of St. Thomas, Christy (Jeff) Gibbs of Kilkenny, Becky (Merle) Zimmerman, of Wabasso, Rob (Kathy) Blaschko of Burnsville, Bobbie (Paul) Schleeve of Le Sueur, Todd Blaschko of Le Center, Joel (Barb) Blaschko of Lakeville, Susie (Jim) McMillen of Le Center and Shawn (Kim) Blaschko of Le Center; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, George (Janice) Welckle of Le Center and Dennis (Carol) Welckle of Cleveland and sister, Joyce (Del) Mitzel of Sioux Falls, SD.
She is preceded in death by Tom Blaschko, her parents, grandson, Patrick O'Connell and son-in-law, Jon Stueven.
