Carl William Lingsweiler

Carl William Lingsweiler, age 91 of Montgomery, died on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Mala Strana Health Care Center in New Prague. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am on Monday, February 6 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Fr. Victor Valencia will officiate. Visitation will be from 3-7pm on Sunday, February 5 at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery and will continue one hour prior at the funeral home on Monday morning. Interment will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery in Montgomery.

Carl was born on July 31, 1925 to Karl and Katherine (Leffler) Lingsweiler in Minneapolis. He attended St. Canice parochial school in Kilkenny. He began working at Bauer Meat Market as a butcher at the age of 16. He married Lorraine Zahratka on April 28, 1945 in Le Center. He drove a portable feed grinder for the local farmers in Montgomery. He had bartended at the White Front Bar, Palace Bar and Happy Hour Bar in Montgomery and also had co-owned the Tom and Carl Bar in Montgomery. More recently he had worked for the Montgomery public school as the custodian. Carl was a Montgomery volunteer firefighter for 30 years. Carl enjoyed camping, fishing, attending parades, listening to KCHK, and playing cards and bingo.

Carl is survived by his children, Leonard "Cowboy" Lingsweiler of Faribault, Danny "Links" Lingsweiler of Montgomery, and Jeanne (Ron) Smisek of Montgomery; 8 grandchildren, Norman and Tom Lingsweiler (Pollard), Lenny Lingsweiler and Tami Haun,
Lynn Rankin, Gary Lingsweiler and Kristi Lingsweiler and Brenda Kaderlik; 16 great- grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lorraine; son, Tom Lingsweiler; grandson, Ronald Scott Smisek; daughter-in-law, Lillian Lingsweiler; and many siblings.
