Charles Joseph Lande

Charles Joseph Lande, 80 of Le Center, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Central Health Care Center in Le Center. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center and one hour prior at the church on Monday. Funeral service will be on Monday, March 17 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center. Burial will be at a later date at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Montgomery.

Charles was born on June 7, 1933 in Palo Alto, Iowa to Joseph O and Julia Iva (Hampson) Lande. He attended Iowa High School, Estherville Jr. College & received his BA degree from Iowa State Teachers College. He was united in marriage to Gloria (Thorson) Lande in December of 1953. She passed away in 1990. He served in the US Army. He was united in marriage to Patsy Ann (Tiede) Brockway on October 3, 1992 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center. Charles was a salesman for L.D. Caulk retiring in 1992.

He was a member of the American Legion of Le Center, AA and a past member of the Montgomery Lions Club. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading newspapers.

He is survived by wife, Patsy (Brockway) Lande of Le Center; Children, Blaine Lande of Sauk Center, Brian Lande of Montgomery, Phillip Lande of Shakopee, Gary (Marilyn) Brockway of Eyota, Rick (Kathy) Brockway of Montgomery, and Tammie (Steve) Pan of Montgomery; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Julie Lande of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Patricia Holdorf of Spirit Lake, Iowa; sister-in-law, Charleen Lande of Coon Rapids and brother-in-law, LeRoy (Doris) Tiede of Le Center.

Charles is preceded in death by his 1st wife, Gloria Jean (Thorson) Lande; his parents and brother Allen Lande.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.

Military honors will be provided by the Le Center Honor Guard.
