Clayton George Kukacka

Clayton “Cookie” George Kukacka, age 84, of Owatonna, formerly of New Prague, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 in Medford at his daughter Debs house. Visitation will take place Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 9am-11am with a memorial service following at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Interment will be in the Bohemian National Cemetery in Montgomery. Military honors will be provided by the Montgomery area Honor Guard.

Clayton was born on December 7, 1936 in Montgomery to Louis and Lillian (Dejcmar) Kukacka. He graduated from Montgomery High School and began his life of serving his country proudly!

He was in the US Navy and was GMI aboard the USS MADDOX DD731. He enjoyed it very much! He crossed the equator and became a shellback and gunners mate. He was sergeant in the US Army Reserves for several years and donated many gallons of blood! He also was a Post Commander of the VFW, a member of American Legion Club, Eagles Club and Sportsman Club.

Clayton enjoyed listening to Old Time music and Classic Country on KCHK! When living in the country, he had a small hobby farm. He was fond of all animals, especially dogs! He enjoyed visiting with family, playing Euchre, being outdoors, gardening, recycling, marching in many parades as a gratified Navy Veteran, (The Kolacky Parade was his favorite), attending Pioneer Power shows, watching WWE and WWF wrestling, game shows, court and crime TV, comedies, and western movies.

He worked for Murphy Trucking, Amoco, Harvestore and other jobs throughout his lifetime.

Clayton is survived by his children, Kenny Kukacka of Lonsdale, Karen (Don) Chlan of Webster, Deb Forthun (Bob Gosse) of Medford, Darin Kukacka (Maggie Siedow) of New Prague, Lisa (Paul) Scharf of New Prague and Addie Kukacka of Bloomington; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Leon Kukacka of Le Center, Lila Korbel of Tennessee, Joel Kukacka of Heidelberg, Lucy Connolly of Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.

Clayton is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Lillian Kukacka; son, Leslie Max Kukacka; twin brother, Clarence Kukacka; brothers, Harold Kukacka and Jeff Kukacka.
