Clement Andrew Haefner passed away on October 17, 2015, at Oaklawn Rehabilitation Center in Mankato. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny, on October 24, 2015 at 10:30 AM. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Kilkenny. Military honors will be provided by the Le Center area Honor Guard. Visitation will be held at the Le Center Funeral Home on October 23, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and also one hour prior to the service at the Church.
Clem was born in Mankato on September 15, 1920 to Andrew and Anna (Hartung) Haefner. He attended school in Mankato, worked on his Dad's farm, and served in the Navy June 1942 - January 1946. Clem married Anna Marie Muldoon on October 15, 1946. They began their married life together by farming in Madison Lake from 1946 to 1950. In 1950 they purchased a farm in Le Center where they farmed until he retired in 1970. Clem also worked at the GTA in Le Center during the winter months.
Clem is a member of St. Canice Church in Kilkenny, the American Legion and the VFW in Le Center. Clem was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed farming, playing cards, building old fashioned wheel barrels, restoring antique wagons, and other wood working projects.
Clem is survived by sons: Bernard (Claranita) from Houston Texas, and Charles from Waseca. Daughters: Jo Ann (Stephen) Kortuem from Madison Lake, Marilyn (James) Holicky from Le Center and Lori (Tom) Jindra from Le Center. Brother: Robert (Ida) Haefner from Mankato, sisters: Valeria Frederick from Madison lake and Anna Marie Rohlfing from Cleveland. Sister/brother-in- laws, Pat (Beverly) Muldoon from Madison Lake, Theresa Denn from St Clair. Eleven grand children: Jonathan (Erica) Haefner, Matt(Sally) Kortuem, Katie(Brent) Olson, Bernie(Wendy) Kortuem, Tanya(Bill) Anderson, Angie(Dan) Neubauer, Ryan(Michelle) Holicky, Megan(Chris) Lamont, Chris, Mike, and Caitlin Jindra, twenty-five great grand children, two great-great grand children, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Marie (Muldoon) in 2008, parents Andrew and Anna, brothers Allie, Jerome, Anthony, Simon and Sylvester Haefner, father and mother-in -law, Michael and Catherine Muldoon, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Donald Denn, Francis and Mary Ellen Veroven, Francis and Esther Hertz, Milton and Winn Clemons, John Muldoon, Paul Rohlfing, Cletus Frederick, Lorraine Haefner, Joan Haefner, Joann Haefner, Elfern Haefner, Phyllis Haefner, Bette Haefner and great-grandchild Joshuah Neubauer.
