Cynthia “Cindy” Marie (Schmidt) Mccabe

Cynthia “Cindy” Marie (Schmidt) McCabe, 65, of Cleveland, died Friday, May 20, 2022 in Mankato. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 3-7pm at the Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 10:30am at the Church of Nativity in Cleveland with Fr. James Stiles, officiating with visitation one hour prior at the church. Burial is at Calvary Cemetery, (Scotch Lake) in Cleveland. Memorials are preferred to Mankato Andreas Cancer Center.

Cindy was born on October 21, 1956 to George Raymond and Marilyn Marie (Kopp) Schmidt in Mankato. She grew up on the farm and graduated from Cleveland High School in 1975.

Cindy married Thomas Gerard McCabe on May 14, 1977 in Cleveland where they made their home. She waitressed for 34 years, first at the Holiday House and then at the Country Pub. Later she worked as a paraprofessional at the Cleveland Public School. She retired in 2019. Cindy enjoyed dancing, garage sales, shopping at thrift stores, antiques, refinishing furniture, yardwork and flower gardening. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the time spent with her grandchildren by the pool.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Thomas; three daughters, Jennifer (Ryan) Ryg of Cleveland, Nicole McCabe (Travis Dehning) of Cleveland, Whitney McCabe (Jeremiah Cowell) of St. Peter; six grandchildren, Mason, Madison, Ryley, Carsyn, Harper and Haisley; sisters, Patricia Scheffert of Le Center and Cheryl Evenson of Mankato; brother, Scott (Debbie) Schmidt of Cleveland; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
