Dale Gaul, 64, of Montgomery, died on Saturday, September 11 at his home, after his long and courageous fight against cancer. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 15 from 4pm to 7pm at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 16 at 10:30am at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Fr. Tom Niehaus, officiating with visitation one hour prior at the church. Military honors provided by the Montgomery area Honor Guard. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
Dale was born on June 17, 1957 in Slayton, MN to Anton and Ruth (Schwartz). He was a graduate of Holy Redeemer Catholic School and attended Montgomery High School. Dale served in the US Navy from 1975-1977. Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing, and collecting NASCAR memorabilia.
Dale is survived by significant other, Carla Ellman of Montgomery; mother, Ruth Gaul of Montgomery; children, Sara (Justin) Harl of New Prague, and Emily Gaul of Montgomery; stepchildren, Dawn (Tony) Skluzacek of Montgomery, and Emily Coon of Kansas City, Kansas; grandchildren, Dillan, Charlie, and Christopher Horejsi; brothers, sisters, and their families, Sandy, Karen, Ron, Bob, Ed, Carol, Ted, Mary, Lisa, and Dave.
Dale is preceded in death by his father, Anton Gaul, brothers, Mark Gaul and Steve Gaul; great-niece, Brielle Trcka, and Carlas mother, Berneice Kasper.
