David Lewis Kahl, Jr., age 87 of Le Center, died Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Central Health Care Center in Le Center. Visitation will be held at Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center on Wednesday, November 12 from 8:00 � 10:30 a.m. An Oddfellows service will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 10:30. Funeral Service will also be at the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Le Center. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
David was born on January 23, 1927 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa to David Lewis, Sr. and Madaline (Loux) Kahl. He attended school in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, then married Harriet Larson on February 3, 1962. He worked at the GTA Elevator, for Hrdlicka Trucking, and was a part time police officer in Hayfield and Olso, MN. David was a member of the Elks, Moose Lodge, and Oddfellows. He enjoyed woodworking, painting, and travelling.
David is survived by his wife, Harriet; three sons, William & Linda Alitz, Albert Alitz & Cindy Davis, and Robert & Michele Kahl all of Le Center; daughter, Sheryl & Lamar Palmquist of Le Center; 20 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and brother, Harold Kahl of Grandmeadow.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Carlos Alitz; and three brothers, Maynard, Darrell, and Calvin.
