Dennis George Hruby

DENNIS GEORGE HRUBY, age 73 of Le Center, died on the evening of Friday, January 17, 2025 at Central Health Care in Le Center.

Denny was born on December 14, 1951, in New Prague to parents George and Anna (Schmidthuber) Hruby. He attended school in Le Center and graduated with the class of 1969. On June 2, 1979, Denny was united in marriage to Diane Williams in her hometown of Austin. Although he and his new wife did move around a bit during their life together, Denny always returned to Le Center and considered this community his lifelong home. He held various jobs throughout the years, although many remember his career in the local post office or his volunteer work on the board at Woodlawn Cemetery. Following his disability Denny began a job that he truly loved as a driver for Factor Motors. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center and he enjoyed woodworking, watching sports – particularly the NFL, listening to music, watching television game shows, and admiring collectable cars.

Dennis is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Diane Hruby of Le Center; many special members of Diane’s family; and four nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Elaine Nolte; and his beloved Bassett Hound, Snickers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at the Le Center Chapel of Schoenbauer Funeral Homes, with Rev. Heath Queen officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Le Center.
