Derek Alan Alsaker

Derek Alan Alsaker, 11 of Shakopee, died at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis on Tuesday, August 25, 2015. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center with visitation an hour prior at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Le Center.

Derek was born on October 4, 2003 in New Prague to Eliza (Alitz) Alsaker and Jason Alsaker. Derek would have been starting school this year as a 6th grader. He enjoyed playing Xbox, Lego's, watching movies and cartoons, playing with friends, camping and family trips.

Derek is survived by his parents, Jason Alsaker and Eliza (Alitz) Alsaker; step-father, Bob Emmers; grandparents, Clyde and Sal Alsaker, Albert Alitz and Crystal Henken (Mike Chounard); step-brothers, Luke and Zachary Emmers; aunts and uncles, Carrie (Todd) Schlager, Perry (Kim) Bly, Mike and Pat Johnston, Lori Alitz, Carla (Jason) Wallig and Emily Klema; cousins, Hailey Schlager, Anthony, Collon and Dylan Johnston, Thomas, Connor, Aidan and Rielly Wallig and many other family and friends.

Derek is preceded in death by his grandmother, Shirley Alsaker and great-grandparents, Ben and Dorothy Auferdhiede and David Kahl.
