Donald Edward Eisert, age 73, of Savage, formerly of Montgomery, died on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at St. Gertrudes Health and Rehab Center in Shakopee. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Military Honors memorial service provided by the Montgomery area Honor Guard will follow at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Supper to follow at American Legion from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Burial will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.

Don was born on October 10, 1942 in Montgomery to Ervin and Helen (Trinka) Eisert. Don graduated from Montgomery High School and Minnesota School of Business in Computer Programming. He served in the United States Navy in the Airborne Division and during the Vietnam War. Don was united in marriage to Rose Blank on December 16, 1967 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center. He worked as a computer programmer for United Power in Elk River, Continental Machines in Savage, and St. Louis County in Duluth.

Don was a member of the Montgomery American Legion, Montgomery VFW, Montgomery Lions Club, Holy Redeemer Church and School. He was very active in the Montgomery Community. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, his dog Duke, spending time with his family and friends, reading, and crypto quips.

Don is survived by his wife, Rose Eisert of Savage; children, Deb (Brad) Ristow of Ellsworth, WI, Diana Eisert of Blaine, Steve (Erin Mulligan) Eisert of Minneapolis, Tom (Missy) Eisert of Montgomery, and Karen Eisert (Chris Tidemann) of Minneapolis; 6 grandchildren, Alex, Luke, Abbey, and Zach Ristow, Braydon, and Kale Eisert.

He is preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Fred David; siblings, Fred, Leona Moravec, and Jim.
