Dorothy Mary (Homan) Wersal

Dorothy Mary (Homan) Wersal, of Le Center walked through Heaven's gates on October 18, 2018. There will be a visitation at the Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center on Tuesday, October 23 from 3pm to 5pm with a service at 5pm.

Dorothy was born on a farm outside of St. Leo, MN on October 20, 1937 to Ben and Angela (Schweiss) Homan. She graduated from Hector High School. First and foremost she was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a very creative person with a tremendous talent of crocheting. She loved the outdoors working in her garden and on her lawn. Over the years she has been complimented by many people on her ability to grow such beautiful gardens, even some who were complete strangers. Dorothy loved baking, making quilts, crafts, and making uniquely hand crafted Christmas ornaments every year for her family.

Dorothy loved old time music and while at one of the many polka dances she attended, she met the love of her life. Dorothy and Bill married in 1958. Bill's job transferred the family to Montana in 1975, they later divorced in 1978. Dorothy earned her Engineering Degre at the Glasgow AFB in 1980. Work brought her back to MN where she spend her years up to her retirement working as a Draftsperson in the Engineering Department at WINCO in Le Center.

Dorothy is survived by and greatly missed by her daughter, Debbie Kallem of Kalispell, MT, son, Kevin (Angie) Wersal , daughter, Denis (Earl) Carson of Glasgow, MT, daughters, Lorie Jenson, Brenda (Gary) Wick, and Jodi Lange all of Le Center; 19 grandchildren, Amee, Nicholas, Ashley, Cara, Shawn, Brittne, Darrin, Shane, Kyle, Jessica, James, Jennifer, Brianna, Brandon, Nichol, Greg, Adam, Hannah, and Logan; and by an ever growing number of great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty (Norbert) Portner of New Ulm, Aggie (Dick) Matheowitz of Fairfax, Jerome (Gladys) Homan of Hutchinson; sister-in-law, Delores (Warner) Homan of Redwood Falls.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her infant child, William (Billy) Joseph Wersal III.; parents; sons-in-law, Bim Kallem and Shawn Lange; ex-husband, William (Bill) Joseph Wersal Jr.; and bother Cletus Homan.
