Earl Theodore Gramling, age 88, of Le Center, died on November 7, 2018. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018, from 3pm to 7pm at Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center concluding with a KC service at 6:45 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, November 13 at 10 am with visitation from 9am to 10am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Le Center. Military honors will be provided by the Le Center Area Veterans Honor Guard.

Earl was born on November 23, 1929 in St. Paul to Earl J. and Helen M. (Scott) Gramling. He graduated from Cretin High School in St. Paul in 1947. Earl attended St. Thomas University then enlisted in the US Army and served from 1948 to 1949. Earl then enrolled in Mankato State Teacher's College where he was the captain of the football team and received his Master's Degree. Earl was united in marriage to Irene T. O'Leary in St. Paul on June 26, 1954. Earl was a High School Principal at Alden High School from 1954 to 1969 and Le Center High School from 1969 to 1989.

Earl was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Le Center Community Club, American Legion Post 108, Ancient Order of Hibernians, MN Football Coaches Association, and National Educators Association. Earl was inducted into the MN State High School League Football Coaches Hall of Fame. Earl loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed sports, primarily football. He never missed an opportunity to watch his grandchildren play any game. He also enjoyed playing a round of golf or game of cards with his friends. Earl and Irene spent a lot of time traveling throughout their retirement.

Earl is survived by his children, Theresa (Pat) Pribyl of New Prague, Margaret (Brian) Saeger of Shakopee, and David (Julia) Gramling of Le Center; siblings, Patricia Peterson of White Bear Lake, and Joseph (Carol) Gramling of St. Paul; grandchildren, Ryan Pribyl, Angela LaVoi, Kristin Pribyl, Tim Pribyl, Jeni Wetzel, Abby Bathel, Rachel Smith, Joe Gramling, Sam Gramling, John Gramling, Anne Anderson, and Michael Gramling; 33 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Earl is preceded in death by his loving wife, Irene; parents; granddaughters, Jessica and Melissa Saeger; Danner Pribyl; brother-in-laws, William Peterson and Howard O'Leary; sisters-in-law, Ethel Wrought, Alice Eichten and Muriel Timm.
