Edward J. Skluzacek age 85, of Montgomery, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Mayo Systems Hospital in New Prague. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 9, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, November 10, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior at the funeral home. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.

Edward was born on June 3, 1929 in New Prague to Edward E. and Christina (Malecha) Skluzacek. He graduated from New Prague High School. He served in the United States Army from 1953 � 1956. He was united in marriage to Ann Rose Brezina on April 29, 1958 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Edward worked for the City of Montgomery for 20 years. He was a member of the VFW in New Prague and enjoyed gardening and reading.

Edward is survived by his children, Marie Cooper of Waseca, Kenneth (Theresa) Skluzacek of Madison, South Dakota, Timothy Skluzacek of Galveston, TX., Charles (Patti) Skluzacek of Madison, South Dakota, Debra Skluzacek of Montgomery and Greg (Tracie) Skluzacek of Jordan; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary (Harold) Gregory Skluzacek of Belle Plaine, Joseph (Eileen) Skluzacek of New Prague, Betty Odenthal of New Market, Bernard (Jan) Skluzacek of Chicago, IL., and Patricia Ranzau of Burnsville.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ann Rose; daughter, Cathy at birth; and sister, Rita Wagner.

Military Honors provided by the Montgomery area Honor Guard.
