Ellsworth 'Alex' Lyle Ruff

Ellsworth "Alex" Lyle Ruff, 70 of Le Center, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Central Health Care in Le Center. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 10 a.m.- 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center with Funeral at 11 a.m. Rev. Arne Jessen will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Union Cemetery in Le Center.

Alex was born on June 15, 1945 to Henry and Gladys (Osterman) Ruff in Arlington. He was united in marriage for 35 years to Joanie Thomas. Worked as a skilled laborer at Unimin in Ottawa for many years. Alex enjoyed fishing at his family's resort in Richmond, MN. He enjoyed being outdoors, grilling and spending time with his family.

Alex is survived by his wife, Joanie of Le Center; his children Rocky Ruff of Brainerd, Robbyn Ruff of Fargo ND, Sheila Ruff-Lutz (Dave) of Cologne; Grand Children, Cody (Rachael) Ruff of Bismarck, ND and Cameron Ruff of Cologne; great granddaughter, Lucy Ruff of Bismarck, ND; step children, Debbie, Kim, Sharon and Billy, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Brothers, Harvey (Sue) Ruff of Kasota, Paul (Norma) Ruff of Texas, Hiney Ruff of Henderson; sister, Evie (Bill) Aul of Bloomington; sister in-law, Janet Ruff of Le Center, and many extended family and friends.

Alex is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Gladys; his two infant sons Scott and Dustin Ruff; brothers George Ruff, Walter Ruff, Carl Ruff; sisters Verna Drescher and Selma Ruff.
