Elmer William Sticha, 88, of Montgomery, passed away at Pleasant Manor in Faribault on Monday, November 5, 2018. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, November 9, at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery, with visitation 2 hours prior also at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery. Father George Grafsky will be officiating.

Elmer was born on July 14, 1930 in Veseli on the family farm to William W. and Beatrice (Bartusek) Sticha. Elmer attended Veseli and New Prague schools. Elmer was united in marriage to Rita Rosival at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church on June 14, 1955. Elmer was a farmer, milk truck driver, worked at McQuays in Faribault and after retiring he drove school bus for Montgomery schools. Elmer was a member of the Czech singers. He enjoyed watching the Twins, Allis Chalmers tractors, playing cards, playing in old time bands- drums and accordion, spending time with his grand and great-grandchildren.

Elmer is survived by his wife, Rita Sticha of Faribault; daughters, Mary (Scott) Ahrens of New Richmond, WI, and Renee Henson of Faribault; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Arnie (Joan) Sticha of New Prague, and Bill (Marilyn) Sticha of Burnsville

Elmer is preceded in death by sons, Randy Sticha, and Gregory and David both in infancy; parents; son-in-law, Jim Henson.
