Emil Edward Knish

Emil Edward Knish, age 57, of Montgomery died on Thursday, February 6, 2020, at his home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 12, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery with a Masonic Lodge service. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 13, at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery with Pastor Jason Pollington officiating and visitation one hour prior at the church. Interment will take place at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Le Center.

Emil was born on September 4, 1962, in St. Peter to Emil F. and Mamie (Kopet) Knish. Emil was a Le Center High School graduate and also went to Faribault Vo-Tech for 2 years. Emil was united in marriage to Theresa L. Soulek on September 21, 1985, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Le Center. Emil worked as a Field Coordinator for Opus Design Build, LLC., for 35 years.

Emil was a member of the MN River Valley Lodge No. 6 Masonic Lodge, Scott-Carver Threshers, and Carpenters Local Union No. 322. He enjoyed antique gas engine collecting and restoration, gardening, wood working and carpentry, wine making, cabinetry, deer hunting, trapping, grilling, history and historic buildings, spending time with family, rescuing pets, and landscaping.

Emil is survived by his wife, Theresa L. Knish; mother, Mamie Knish; children, Emily (Nels Anderson) Knish-Anderson of Prior Lake and Kelsey Knish (Jesse Proctor) of Philadelphia, PA.; siblings, Barb (Wayne) Krohn of Le Center, Bob (Ordella) Knish of Gaylord, Bonnie (Wayne) Johnson of Mankato, Steve (Evonne) Knish of Faribault, Gary Knish of Belle Plaine, Randy (DeAnn Mick-Knish) Knish of Faribault, and Kim Knish (Hermann Klaas) of Savage.

Emil is preceded in death by his father, Emil F. Knish; in-laws, Venda (Helen) Soulek; nephew/ God-child, Jason Bradshaw; and sister-in-law, Lori Knish.
