Emily Mae Braun

Emily Mae Braun, 87, of Montgomery passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems Hospital in Mankato. Visitation will be on Saturday, December 22 from 9am to 11am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am with Father Victor Valencia officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Lexington.

Emily was born on January 18, 1931 in Lexington to Joseph and Anna (Plonski) Blank. She graduated from Le Center High School. Emily was united in marriage to Donald O. Braun on September 12, 1953 at St. Joseph Church in Lexington. Emily worked at Northwestern Life Insurance Co. in Minneapolis, Citizens State Bank in Montgomery, and for 27 years First National Insurance Agency in Montgomery retiring in 1999 at the age of 68. Emily was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing Bridge, doing word find puzzles, feeding birds and gardening.

Emily is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Mark) Shaughnessy of Montgomery; grandchild, Kelly (Matt) Kramer of Rosemount; great-grandchildren, Felicity and Kieran.

Emily is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Braun; daughter, Kathleen Braun; siblings, Mary Wondra and John Blank.
