Eugene Thomas Turek

Eugene Thomas Turek, age 89, of Faribault, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023 at Milestone Nursing Home in Faribault. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 24 from 9am-10:30am at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery with a prayer service to follow. Interment will be held in the Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Disabled American Veterans or donor’s choice.

Eugene T. Turek was born May 29, 1934 in Erin Township at the family farm to Adolph V. and Christine Dedina Turek. He attended school district 49 in Erin Township until fall of 1947 when family moved to a farm near Medford. He completed 10th grade at Faribault High School and dropped out of school.

He worked on family farm until spring of 1973 when family moved to Faribault, he got a job at Nutting Truck and Caster Company in the foundry where he worked 12 years before the company moved to the Dakota’s. After that he was self-employed as a handyman and mowed lawns. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Eugene is survived by cousin, Eldon (Barb) Turek and their family.

Eugene is preceded in death by his parents; brother, still born April 1927 and a sister still born 1937.
