Evelyn J. Engelrup (Updated)

Evelyn Jean (Lumex) Engelrup, age 96, of Le Center went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 26, 2018, at Central Health Care Center in Le Center. There will be a graveside service Monday, January 29, at 10:30 AM at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Le Center.

Evelyn (Ebby) was born December 8, 1922, in Le Center to James and Lillian (Smullen) Lumex. She graduated from McKinley High School in Le Center and attended Teachers Training. She taught for a time in a country school house. She was married to Alvin Engelrup on September 27, 1957, in New Ulm, MN and were blessed with a son, Thomas. She loved to garden and make things from the bounty of her garden. She was active in her church, Cleveland Church of Christ and never hesitated to share the love of the Lord with those she met. She was very health conscious and shared her knowledge with her family.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Thomas of Le Center; nieces, Rhonda Lofland of Bloomington, and Rebecca Bilder of Lino Lakes.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin (1993); her parents; sister, Catherine Lofland.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Central Health Care Center in Le Center on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 11 am.
