Francis Meyer Jr., 81, of Mankato, formerly of Le Center, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Laurel's Edge Assisted Living in Mankato. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 12, from 8 am to 10 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center with Mass of Christian Burial following at 10 am. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Le Center.
Francis was born on July 3, 1937 in rural Le Center to Francis and Dorothy (Elwood) Meyer Sr. He was a high school graduate of McKinley High School in Le Center. Francis was united in marriage to Rose Miller on November 26, 1957 in Janesville. Francis was a dairy farmer until 1983 then owned and operated a welding shop. Francis was a devoted husband and loving father. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling. He was a very active member of St. Mary's Parish and was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus.
Francis is survived by his wife Rose Meyer of Le Center; children, Jim (Lynette) Meyer of Le Center, Julie (Greg) Eide of New Prague, Melanie (Kevin) Patterson of Windom, Dan (Connie) Meyer of Le Center, Jane Meyer (Al Windsperger) of Little Falls, and Greg Meyer (Lisa Christensen) of Cleveland; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dave (Maxine) Meyer of New Brighton, Marge (Alvin) Schloesser of Watertown, WI, and Gene (Nina) Meyer of Le Center.
Francis is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Jack Meyer, Tom Meyer, Jan Wild, and Marilyn Riebel.
