George Emil Duban, age 86 of Lonsdale passed away October 16, 2023. Visitation will be held Friday, October 27 from 3pm-7:30pm at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 28 at 10:30am with visitation one hour prior at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Fr. Tom Niehaus officiating. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Lonsdale. Military Honors will be provided by the Montgomery and Lonsdale Veteran Honor Guard.
George was born on February 21, 1937 in Wheatland Township to Emil and Mary Duban. He graduated from Montgomery-Lonsdale High School in 1955, served in the Army reserves for 6 years before meeting the love of his life, Charlene Speiker. They were united in marriage on June 15, 1963 at All Saint’s in Lakeville, MN. They were married 60 years. He farmed and milked cows near Lonsdale all his life until he retired in 2015.
He is an honorary member of the KC’s, usher at Holy Redeemer Church, served on the board of many different farm organizations. He loved John Deere tractors, Holstein cows, traveling, fishing, playing cards and helping many friends farm.
George is survived by his wife, Charlene; brother, John (Evelyn) Duban, and sister, MaryAnn (Roger) Heyda; sisters-in-law, Marilyn (Gerald) Prchal and Geneva (Everett) Meives; many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
