Wagner, George W. Age 87, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 8, 2013. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 10 am to 11 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center with funeral service at 11. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Le Center. He was born in Marinette, WI, raised in Bovey, MN, & graduated from Greenway HS. He proudly served in the US Army prior to attending & graduating from the University of MN. He moved to Le Center, MN where he met his wife, Harriet Harmeyer, of 45 years. George was a successful businessman & entrepreneur until his retirement led him to Sun City, AZ. George was dearly loved and respected by his family & many friends. He was a very benevolent, God fearing man. He was a faithful supporter of his churches (St Paul Lutheran, Le Center & American Lutheran, Sun City), the Masonic Lodge, and the Zuhrah Shrine Club where he was a president of the Ho Ho Chapter. He was on the Woodlawn Cemetery board for years, active in the American Legion and VFW, served 2 terms on the Le Center School Board & on the board for the Le Center Chiefs baseball team. He had a zest for life that gave him the ability to enjoy each day. George was an enthusiastic MN sports fan and was always present at his children\'s sporting events. He was passionate about golf and won multiple tourneys at the Le Sueur Country Club, enjoyed traveling throughout the states and abroad, was an avid reader, bridge player and enjoyed his time playing with the grandchildren and watching them in their activities. He was preceded in death by his wife, Harriet E (Harmeyer) Wagner; his second wife of 16 yrs, Dorothy (Hawks) Wagner; parents, Clarence and Lillian Wagner. Loving memories will be cherished by his children, Gary (Peggy) Wagner and Gail (Tim) Gordon; grandchildren Jessica (Matthew) Stanwix, Peter Wagner, Kelsey (James) Gempeler, Alison Gordon; great-granddaughter, McKenna Gempeler & Dorothy\'s extended family.
