Glenn Richard Tuma, age 84, of Montgomery, died on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at his home in Rural Montgomery. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 11, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with visitation one hour prior at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
Glenn was born on November 8, 1931 in Erin Township to Valentine and Justine (Dreyer) Tuma. He was united in marriage to Agnes Dorzinsky on June 7, 1955 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lexington. He and Agnes farmed all his life in Erin Township.
He was a director of the Erin Township School Board District 1807, Montgomery Co-op Creamery, Le Sueur County DHIA, Citizens State Bank, Rural American Bank, and Frandsen Bank and Trust, volunteered at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery, and was a member of the Montgomery Area Community Club, Czech Area Concertina Club, and the Farmers Union. He enjoyed music, especially Czech songs and concertina music, dancing, travelling domestic and international, fishing, playing cards and spending time with children and grandchildren.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Agnes Tuma of Montgomery; sons, Jeffrey Tuma of Montgomery, and Brian (Rebecca) Tuma of Cordova, Nebraska; grandchildren, Chloe and Zachary Tuma, and Jacob and Amberlyn Tuma; brothers-in-law, Edmund Dorzinski of Le Center, and Frank (Carol) Dorzinsky of St. Peter, and many other family and friends.
Glenn is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Helen (John) David, and Evelyn (Edward) Peroutka.
