Grant Karl Anderson, 70, of Le Center, died Monday, February 29, 2016 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center with visitation 1 hour prior at the funeral home. Father Chris Shofner will be officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Le Center.
Grant was born on April 18, 1945 in Madison, South Dakota to Oscar and Marguerite (Benz) Anderson. He�graduated from�the University of South Dakota and earned his masters degree at the University of North Dakota.� He worked as a teacher at the Le Center Junior High and High School. �Grant was united in marriage to Kathryn Hass on August 31, 1968.
Among the many passions Grant had were�playing and coaching baseball, gardening, pheasant hunting,�writing and publishing�history papers and collecting Santa figures and baseball memorabilia. He was well known for his one liners including, "I would rather wear out than rust out."
Grant is survived by his wife, Kathy Anderson of Le Center; children, Christian (Denell) of Jordan, and Tara (John) Vig of Shakopee; 7 grandchildren, Aftyn, Maddyn, Landyn, and Devyn Anderson, Hayden, Archer, and Adam Vig and brother, Terry (Gretchen Lord) Anderson of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
