Harriet Irene Kahl

Harriet Irene Kahl, age 78, of Le Center, died Friday, September 2, 2016 at Central Health Care in Le Center. Visitation will be held at Le Center Funeral Home on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 8:00 am to 10:30 am. Followed by Rebekah funeral service. Funeral service will also be held at the funeral home at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Le Center. A luncheon will follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Le Center.

Harriet was born on April 22, 1938 in Waukon, IA to Olvin and Ella (McClintock) Larson. She married David Kahl, Jr. on March 3, 1962. She worked at Green Giant, ADC, and Wal-Mart.

She was a member of Oddfellows and Rebekahs. Harriet enjoyed doing needlepoint, quilting, crocheting, assisting with Camp Fa-Ho-Cha, and caring for her many plants and flowers.

Harriet is survived by three sons, William (Linda) Alitz, Albert (Cindy Davis) Alitz, Robert (Michele) Kahl, all of Le Center; daughter, Sheryl (LaMar) Palmquist of Le Center; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; brothers, Allen Larson, and Olvin Larson Jr.; and sister, Rosaria Mullens.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, David; son, Carlos Alitz; brother, Deryl Larson; and grandson, Derek Alsaker.
