Harry Christian, age 84, of Le Center passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Central Health Care in Le Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 28 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center. Visitation will be at the Le Center Funeral home on Thursday, April 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. with KC service at 7:30 p.m. and visitation again on Friday for one hour before the funeral at St. Mary's Church. Private family interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Le Center.

Harry was born on November 1, 1932 in rural Sharon Township in Le Sueur County to Bert and Martha (Widmer) Christian. He attended country school in Sharon Township and graduated from McKinley High School in Le Center in 1950. He attended St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota for two years before joining the army. After serving two years in the service, including time in Korea, he returned to St. John's graduating in 1956. He then went to William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, receiving his degree.

Harry was united in marriage to Frances Schoenbauer at St. Patrick's Church near Cedar Lake in Scott County in 1958, and they raised 7 children. He practiced law in St. Paul before joining William Heinen's law practice in Le Center in 1963, eventually becoming Le Sueur County Attorney, a position he held from 1966 to 1990 and then retiring to private practice and assistant county attorney. He served in the Le Sueur County Attorney's Office for 33 years, 26 of those as County Attorney. He was involved in numerous social and civic organizations in the Le Center area. One of his prized accomplishments was organizing the Fools in the Alley Parade, a periodic April 1st celebration held in Le Center. He enjoyed all things outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Frances; children, Dan (special friend, Karen), Doug (Diane), Paul (Karen), Colleen, Jeff (Tammie), Brad (Katy), and Brent (Angie); 22 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and brother, Ron (Cathy) Christian of Le Center.

Harry is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, John Christian and Martha Graf.

Military Honors will be provided by the Le Center Area Honor Guard.
