Harry Leroy Ely

Harry LeRoy Ely, 82 Cleveland, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 21, 2015. Visitation will be on Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 9 a.m.- 11 a.m. at the Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center with the Funeral service to follow. Burial will be at German Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Cleveland American Legion or Cleveland Fire Department.

Harry was born on August 26, 1932 In Le Sueur County to Sherman and Lela (Smith) Ely. He served in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Alice (Iverna) Zimmerman on January 12, 1955 in Le Center at St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Cleveland American Legion and the Le Center VFW. He enjoyed dancing, fishing, camping trips and auto mechanics.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Ely of Cleveland; children, Darrell (Rebecca) Ely of Eagle Lake, Diane (Sonnie) Lambrecht of New Prague, Dayton Ely of Cleveland, DeNell (John) Cesafsky of Le Center and Darren (Corrinne) Ely of Cleveland; 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; sister, Marvis (Roger) O'Malley of Hutchinson, sisters-in-law, Ardis Ely and Elsie Ely of Cleveland, and brother-in-law, Kenneth Grice of St. Paul.

Harry is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mildred, Lola and Marion; brothers, Willis and Bud.

Military honors will be provided by the Cleveland Honor Guard.
