Helen Justine David, 93 of Montgomery, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2015 at Reedsburg Hospital in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 at St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Trebon Cemetery in rural Sheildsville.
Helen was born on October 22, 1921 to Valentine and Justine (Dreyer) Tuma in New Prague. She was united in marriage to John Gene David on July 11, 1939 at the Holy Redeemer Parish House in Montgomery. She worked at Green Giant as a lead person and also sold Avon for 15 years.
Helen was a President of the Montgomery Sr. Citizens group, a member of the St. Canice CCW and the Degree of Honor. She enjoyed embroidery, sewing, crocheting, old time music, ceramics, loom rugs, gardening, fishing, dancing, visiting with friends, playing cards and traveling. She also spoke fluent Czech and German.
Helen is survived by her children, Yvonne (Alden) Redning of Mapleton, Betty (Paskell) Nichols of Corsicana, TX. Carol (Steven) Hadac of Hastings, Nancy (Charles) Turek of LaValle, Wisc. and Ruth David of Corsicana, TX.; daughter-in-law, Patricia (Carpenter) David of Northfield; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and brother, Glenn (Agnes) Tuma of Montgomery.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband, John David; parents; son, Glenn David; grandson, Troy Lapic and sister, Evelyn Peroutka.
