Helen M. Vlasak

Helen M. Vlasak, 97 of Montgomery went to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, July 31, 2015. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Mass of Christian burial will also be held on Tuesday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Montgomery.

Helen was born on July 15, 1918 in Montgomery to Josef and Eleanor (Pros) Koktavy. She was united in marriage on November 22, 1939 to Francis Vlasak in Montgomery. She farmed alongside her husband and also worked at Franke's Bakery for 29 years.

Helen was a member of Card-O-Rama, Holy Redeemer CCW, KC Auxiliary and held offices in both organizations and was also a member of the Mala Melodies singing group at Mala Strana Nursing Home in New Prague. She enjoyed music, card playing, gardening, entertaining and travelling.

She is survived by her children, John (Jack) Vlasak of Montgomery, Elizabeth Remes of Prior Lake, Robert (Carol) Vlasak of Montgomery, Joyce (Jeff) Gammon of Round Rock, TX and Shirley (Dan) Harnish of Carmel, CA.; grandchildren, Debra (Rick) Skluzacek of Montgomery, Craig Vlasak (Kim Koldin) of Faribault, Kim Glende (Jason Steen) of Montgomery, Tressa (Tony) Sexe of Lonsdale, Tom Remes Jr. of Prior Lake, Melissa Delk of Savage, Tim Vlasak (Shawna)of Kenai ,AK. and Russ Vlasak of Montgomery; 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents; husband Francis; grandchildren, Mark David Remes and Alex Gammon; great-great grandson Ethan Scheffert; son-in-law, Tom Remes and step- siblings, Joseph, Mary (Joseph) Holey, Catherine (August) Tuma, Anna (James) Tuma, Emma (John) Kaderlik, Rose (Frank) Zoubek, Albina (Erwin) Karow.
