Herbert “Frank” Thomas, age 90, of Montgomery, died on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Central Health Care in Le Center. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 17, 9:30am to 11:30am with a rosary at 10am and Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Interment will be in St. Scholastica Catholic Cemetery in Heidelberg.
Frank was born on December 17, 1928 in Portland, Oregon to Herbert Franklin and Mabel (OBrien) Thomas. Frank was a 1946 graduate of Lincoln High School in Portland, Oregon he then attended Oregon State for 2 years and graduated from the University of Oregon. Frank served in the United States Military during the Korean War. Frank was united in marriage to Virginia “Ginny” Moes on August 22, 1959. Frank was a self-employed Lumber Broker and worked in the lumber business for most of his life. Frank enjoyed playing tennis, downhill skiing, playing bridge, sailing, and watching his grandchildrens sporting events.
Frank is survived by his children, Jeannine Mogan of Biwabik, Mike Thomas of Duluth, Colleen (Michael) Traxler of New Prague, and Dan (Sharon) Thomas of Bloomington; grandchildren, Melissa (Kyle) Vining, Kyle Mogan (Micky Marroquin), Matthew Thomas, John Traxler, Sally Traxler, and Tommy Traxler.
Frank is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia “Ginny” Thomas; his parents; siblings, Marjorie (Pat) Lonergan, and William Thomas.
