Irma Emma Kohout, 95, of Montgomery, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at The Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine. Private family services will be held. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
Irma was born on January 1, 1924 in Rice County to William and Anna (Hanek) Turek. Irma was united in marriage to Edward Filipek on February 12, 1941 and to Edward Kohout on May 4, 1973. She worked as a homemaker/ sewing machine operator. Irma was an American Legion Auxiliary member in New Prague and VFW Auxiliary member in Montgomery. She enjoyed sewing, baking, and cooking.
Irma is survived by children, Jean (Bill) Blank of Montgomery, Sharon Koralesky of Fridley, and Bonnie (Ken) Pint of Jasper, Georgia; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rosella Janovsky.
Irma is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Filipek in 1972; son, William Filipek in 1995; second husband, Edward Kohout in 2000; siblings, Milo Turek and Ray Janovsky.
