James Allen Heidemann

James "Jim" Allen (Dick) Heidemann, age 91 of Le Center, died Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the Minnesota Valley Health Center in Le Sueur. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center. Rev. Ally Bowman will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will be at a later date.

James was born in St. Paul on May 15, 1925. He was baptized July 6, 1925 in St. Paul, confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Le Center. James attended grade school at District 99 Country School and graduated from Le Center (McKinley) High School on May 28, 1942. James was united in marriage to Muriel Bauer on March 3, 1945 at the Parsonage of St. Paul's Church in Le Center. They farmed on the north side of Le Center until 1967, then moved to Apple Valley. James worked at Corcoran Implement for 2 years, City of Apple Valley Utilities for 20 years, short employment at JC Penny in the Burnsville Mall, and the City of Lakeville for 10 years. They then moved back to Le Center. James enjoyed the Packers and Woodworking.

James is survived by his wife, Muriel of Le Center; children, Allan (Jean) Heidemann, Robert (Claudia), and Brian (Margie) Heidemann; 8 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Koch, and Char Erkel; brother, Charles Erkel; nephew, nieces and friends.

James is preceded in death by son, Gary; siblings, Norma (Erkel) Mager, Wes Erkel; mother, Ella Erkel.
